Sunday 11/18/12 Minister Jeff sermon: God Is Always There-My Friend in Low Places
Psalms 139:1-8

Many times in life we face challenges that make us take a look at ourselves. These challenges get us burdened down so that we ask if God is still near us and there to help us. In the text, David is talking to God during one of his many challenging times. He knew that God was there to deliver him and that God was still there.

How Do We Know God is Still There
==========================================

1) God delivers us in spite of ourselves:
God REALLY knows us! He knows all our secret things. Look at General Petraeous or Potiphar’s wife. The general’s wife didn’t know he was doing adultery with the author and Potiphar didn’t know his wife was trying to get sex from Joseph. The world thought they knew them but not so. The world doesn’t know the real person. We just think we know them. Only God knows all our ways. He knows us better than anyone ever will.

2) God blesses us in our messed up state:
He blesses us when we are doing wrong. When David messed up, God still protected him. David took Bathsheba, another man’s only wife, when David was rich with many wives.

3) God kept us when we thought we were in hell:
Some of us are living in hell right now! This is a place of nothingness and despair. God is with us during these difficult times. When we are so down and at the lowest of the low, God is still there.

4) We must remember the past victories God has brought us thru:
God is still with us and has not forgotten us. God still loves us. We must worship
God in advance before the victory comes from Him. God is our true friend in a low place. He has his hand on us!
