My Ghosts are very real.
They haunt me all day long.
Just because I am paranoid,
Doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get me.
The mistakes I have made.
The guilt that remains.
Pain so severe
From the shame that I fear.
Afraid of rejection
From the truth that is told.
My heart it does condemn me,
For in the flesh I did walk.
Determined by my own needs,
My mouth it did speak the truth,
But my heart spoke with selfish conceit.
My reality was seeking to control.
Deceiving me and disappointing me in the end.
Stressing over uncertainty
Caused great fear and pain.
Then I realized with the help
Of my greatest gift,
That although my ghost were real,
None of them are true.
Confronting my ghostly voices,
From the past of my unbelief.
God filled my mind with a new reality.
The one with mercy and grace.
I now have a new understanding,
How to let God build
A new reality in me.
One of deliverance and freedom.
Filling me with hope; and peace; and joy.
Reality cannot be controlled.
God is reality.
We are not weak men
Who need to prove we are strong.
We are not self-made.
We do not stand alone.
We are chosen of God.
We are created by him.
The sins of the past,
Put in the deepest part of the ocean.
The guilt & the shame,
Are washed away
By his blood & his name.
Now my heart has
A new message for me.
I start with where I am today.
No longer walking with my pain,
But looking forward to his grace.
I now live in the reality of the chosen,
Not rejected as in times past.
I’m alive for a purpose.
Now I can begin to grow.
And the ghost of my past,
Are no longer haunting me at last.
