From deaths sting we are free,
To live our lives victoriously.
Not lying in our tombs
Defeated by our needs.
How sad if we die to this world
And hope for nothing better.
Our God is alive.
Stop living like your dead.
Would you ask a dead man
Which way to go.
If it is true, you have died to self.
Arise out of your tomb
And follow the risen savior.
We need not live in despair.
Christ left this world
Leaving behind him an empty grave.
The stone was not rolled away
So he could leave.
It was rolled away so we
Could see he is no longer there.
When others look at you,
What do they see?
One who is alive in Christ.
Or one who is mourning the dead.
Do you follow a risen savior
Or the illusion of your own control.
Our hope is not in Christ.
Our hope is in a risen Christ.
He left this world not impressed;
Seeking heavenly pleasures instead.
Carnal pleasures will leave a bitter taste.
Christ descended to us.
He ascended to the very presence of God
Opening the way for us to follow him.
This is our choice!
What difference will it make in us?
You are wanted dead or alive;
As human or devine;
As temporal or eternal;
As earthly or heavenly.
What will you do with this knowledge?
His ascension brings about our choice.
If we are to endure and carry on
Running the race God has ordained.
We must turn our eyes upon him.
Don’t bother looking in the grave.
Climb out of your tomb.
Your labor is not in vain.
Since you have beheld
The son of man ascending into Heaven,
Be alive in Christ
Or lay dead in your tomb.
