Here's another letter I wrote to my great grandmother when living with Jerina and Ronnie Bolin in Union City, CA back in the 1960's. In this letter I mention some childhood friends and cousins.

List of Characters:

Steve Barnhart or Barnhardt was steve
Jerry Alatorre as jerry (A few months ago I did an internet search and discovered this buddy of mine is deceased. He was the
best basketball and football player I knew in my neighborhood and at school)
Ron Bolin my uncle ronnie
Ronnie Heaton Later got me interested in joining the Marines
Mike Buckenham first cousin (known as mikie when we were in elementary school)
Bret Bartlett(misspelled breat) second cousin. We always had fun together playing sports, or Rummy, Stratego and other games

In the right hand corner my great grandmother wrote in blue ink
Feb 1 1970. She was good at details and made little notes of things like this for good record keeping.

Like the rest of my letters I kept the spelling pretty much the
way I wrote these letters originally to show how bad my spelling was. My aunt and uncle were school teachers and so I did make improvements over the years. I have much to be thankful for their patience and love.

Dear Grandma

I love you. We
might come down in
a few weeks. But we're
not shire. I did my

march 14-21-7. Then
they will put me on a
major team or a minor
team. Hows ronnie?

to sign up for baseball

come down I'll play some
baseball with him ok?
