Human depravity is the condition of every human heart as Holy Scripture affirms. In my case it seems I had more than my fair share of that miserable state of being as the result of the fall of man into sin. Reflecting back upon my childhood I can see
the seriousness of God's plan for the family. A son or daughter needs a father and a mother. When I was growing up divorce was not very common. Today divorce is very common and Satan has been instrumental in wrecking and destroying the home.

Growing up without a father I lived with my great grandmother and was a very strong willed boy. She took me to church and Sunday school but it didn't seem to do me any good. On at least one occasion I remember throwing dirt clods at our old white house on Cherokee Rd. Just thinking about this now causes me sorrow because I really felt a connection to this dear lady who treated me like her very own son. At such an old age she didn't deserve how I acted. No parent deserves to be mistreated. Thanks be to God my heavenly Father had plans for me to live with my aunt Jeri and uncle Ron when I turned nine. It was there that I improved the old Adamic nature if that can be the proper term. Until then I was learning to do evil in the home of a woman who deserved to be treated better.

This must have been written as a sort of reminder of my bad behavior or perhaps something I had done while visiting my great grandmother's while living with my aunt and uncle. I do not recall at this point. NOTE: I marvel how poor my spelling was but I'm also thankful that my aunt and uncle taught me to write and spell and work hard in school and around the house.


Here is a short letter detached from an
envelop but there's a date on it.

Here's another unattached letter not found in any envelope.
There is no date on this one but judging by the handwriting
it could have been around 1970. Yes it was written after we
moved into our new home in Fremont, CA. I was twelve years old.


Dear Grandma

I have been
doing fine in school.
Grandma how old
are you? Jeri Ronnie
and I were dicussing
how old you were. They
think your 73 or 74.
But I told them you
wer't that old. your
72 I think. How old
were you when I came
to live with you?
the yard is looking
good. I'am just fine
grandma. I gave
Samatha a bath
today. she's having
fun living in her
new home. I like
school I've been
doing very good in
school. I got a
letter from mommy.
