His Body Is Broken on Earth

His Body is broken on this earth,
it started before our own birth.
Separated into different denominations,
different beliefs, ideas, interpretations.

His Body is now broken still,
Let us pray and seek His will.
Only the Holy Spirit can unite us,
if we kneel and ask God to guide us.

Jesus prayed that we may be one,
one with the Father, Spirit and Son.
Let's forgive and let go of our pride,
do not judge, for we are His Bride.

For God is our Heavenly Father,
we are all sisters and brothers.
Let us take time to discover
his presence and gifts in each other.

Waiting to agree in our minds
hasn't worked most of the time.
Can we open up our hearts
and let the Holy Spirit do His part?

We just seem to get in the way
when we seek unity our own way.
If we listen for the Holy Spirit,
He will gently guide us in it.

Not my will, but yours be done,
was the prayer of God's Son.
Only in dying to ourselves
can we find God is there to help.

Time passes quickly each new day.
Could we come together to pray?
Love is the greatest gift of all,
it's in our hearts that we hear His call.

His Body is still broken on earth,
God can heal it through our rebirth.
In Christ we are a new creation,
together let's proclaim His salvation.

Then the world will truly see
He lives in the hearts of you and me,
and Jesus' prayer that we may be one
will reign in our hearts as we sing His song.
