As I mentioned in my article "Stash It or Trash It" the other day I'll be posting many of my recently discovered letters that I found in a little old suitcase the yesterday. My great grandmother saved these over the years. I feel so blessed. She saved sentimental things such as these. It sure brings back memories and some family history. Some of the letters are from a few people I do not even remember and that is rare for me to forget people. Ofcourse I was always better at remembering people's faces than their names. These no name letters I shall perhaps title Mystery letter if I post them.

The following is a letter I wrote after moving to my aunt Jerina and Uncle Ronnie Bolin's home at age nine. The cause for the move was that my great grandmother was getting older and I being a rambunctious youth was difficult to handle. My social worker or perhaps my aunt decided to take me into their care since my mother wasn't able and my aunt at this time wasn't able to conceive children.

This move to the bay area in California was a new transition for me and a good one in God's providence. My grades were terrible while I lived with my great grandmother after all she only had a sixth grade education and wasn't able to inculcate the discipline I needed for academic education. Curiously my name somehow got changed from Carlton to Carl in 1967 and back to Carlton in 1993 0r 1994 when I decided to pursue an acting career. My real name on my birth certificate is Carlton Pruitt.
Strange thing about this letter is that I do not see a regular postage stamp on it like most of the others but it has some type of postage emblem dated Sep 8, 1967
