It's been a while since I've heard His voice,
a long time since I've felt the rush.
He was drawing my path and straightening my ways,
but it's been a while since I've seen His brush.

They tell me to taste Him,
"He tastes like honey in the rock."
But I can't seem to break these chains,
where can I find the keys to the lock?

He used to walk with me,
I used to follow where he goes.
But the path of life became broader
and a reflection of my heart it shows.

Thirsty and weary I fell on the road,
But the Shepherd found me and carried my load.
He restored my joy and filled my lamp with oil,
said to keep it burning, no matter how hard you have to toil.

All of heaven rejoiced with Him, through the rest of our journey,
my heart moved with wonder when I saw the ninety- nine He left to find me.
