Devotionals
For every mountain, I thank you;
For the strength in my legs to ascend the heights of the mountain,
The grace to survive the heat on my back when the going got tough,
For your joy that rehydrated my ascent when thirst threatened to take me down,
For the stamina to keep going when I thought I couldn’t take another step, you lifted me higher.
For cheering me on in the silence of the journey, your voice echoed loudly penetrating and energising my tired soul.
Lord I thank you,
For safe passage through the fire, though I felt the heat you shielded me from the burns,
For not letting me drown when the waves of life threatened to wash me away.
Lord I thank you,
For being the breeze that refreshes me, no matter what situation I find myself in,
Lord I thank you,
I knew about your saving grace but now I know about your grace that sustains,
Your grace that is able to keep, to preserve, to shield,
Your grace which so sufficiently enables me to do all I need to do,
O! The beauty of your grace, oh the sweetness of your grace,
It is the factor that distinguishes my life, fills it with a sweet fragrance,
Your grace is the soundtrack to my life, a beat beautifully coated with the perfect lyrics; you can’t help but get up, dance and sing along, filling the moment with a timeless feeling.
Lord I thank you for the smell of favour that permeates the air around my life,
Favour that gives me access to places, seasons and moments I never could have imagined nor qualified for.
Most of all, thank you for being real to me...in painful moments, in moments I thought I could never bear, you were there.
In sweet moments, which simply left me gasping in awe of your goodness, you were there.
For your being which was so tangible in my life, unseen yet felt, sometimes I didn’t even feel you but my heart knew a quiet assurance that you are with me always.
I have seen your finger prints all over my life, what an honour, that the majestic, glorious, almighty, all powerful, all knowing, indescribable God creator, One who sustains of the heavens and the earth, would be mindful of me!
I have tasted and seen that the Lord is good! Good doesn’t even begin to describe him. I have chosen to make him my daily bread, the air that I breathe. For without Him I’d suffocate, I’d die of hunger.
He is the daily bread that never goes stale. Ever fresh, filling the palate with diverse tastes everyday! He is my God, my father, my friend and my everything.
Thank you Lord!
