Read: Isaiah 38: 1-7

So says the Lord, set your house in order…

Isaiah 38:1

While serving on Active Duty For Training in the United States Army Reserves during the summer of 2002, I met a young soldier at Fort Bliss, Texas who had the bust of Jesus Christ tattooed on his chest with the inscription “In God I Trust; Semper Fidelis”. When I asked him his reason for selecting this particular image as well as these words, he responded, :”Just in case Jesus should come back He’ll know that He has a very special place in my heart, that He is welcomed to be here, and would be welcomed in my house at my time.”

Although I have never liked tattoos as a way of showing anything, I felt this soldier’s idea was a good one. As a result of this young soldier’s idea, I like to also think that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit bought with a price by the second person of the Trinity and Godhead, Jesus Christ, when He sacrificed Himself for humankind for all times.

Is there such a place WITHIN you? If not, why not? If you are reading this piece and have not, it is not too late! But time is not on your side. Now, however, is as good as any! Yet for some of us if not now, when. You may prepare one at any time day or night. It is never too late. So why not start now while it is on your mind.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, let me always be prepared for your coming at all times just in case you should come to visit.
