When the earth was without form and void
When God pondered creation and spoke
As He ordered the sun and the moon…
This day was ordained by God

The birth of a beautiful baby
Eyes opening anew
The bonding of parent to child forever
This day He knew

A sudden crush of the unforeseen
The shock of life-altering news
The threat of deadly disease
He ordered this day, too

When God designed the breadth and the length
And the depth of His love for you
He held this day in the palm of His hand
And lovingly gave it to you

And who are we to say what is good?
Each moment in time is divine
Dig deep for the treasure that waits for you
That opens the heart of God to you
That allows you to grow in His love for you…
This day, this gift
Signed and numbered by God
