Take these broken dreams and teach me to walk again in Thy light along my path.

Use these broken shards and rebuild my heart with You taking center part

Because from following You, I did part.

I did not follow Your ways. I know Your ways are not my ways.

Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts.

My life I did not lay at Your feet.

Had I bothered to include You and not push You back,

I would now not reek of such utter defeat.

My spirit is empty and frail.

I am broken, used up before You.

I am before You embarrassed and ashamed

After this most recent try I failed.

I have wasted a lifetime not calling on Your name

Forgetting the power of who You are

Constantly pushing You away too far.

Restore the years the ants have eaten.

Help me to rise, a victory to win,

Knowing in Your strength the devil I have beaten.
