Poetry
Under your wings, Daddy God, is where I long to be
In a shelter of peace, a calm in the midst of my troubles.
I am burdened down by the weight of my sin.
Hide me under your wings.
I long for you and to be close to you.
Forgive me, Lord, and shelter me within your embrace.
Restore me to you in your love.
Grant me peace and rest from the exhaustion of my struggles against and away from you.
I have made my life so much harder and my tears so bitter
The further I run from the sanctuary of your lap.
O God, please welcome me back. Make room for me next to your side.
Hide me under your wings.
Shelter me from these frightening storms.
Take pleasure in me once again.
Make my face shine with your wisdom.
Clothe me with a robe of your righteousness.
Make me to delight in your word.
Breathe your Spirit on me as I rest in your lap covered in your loving arms.
Strengthen me again to tell others of your never ending mercy.
Hide me under your wings.
I am a broken child while I hide under your wings.
