Some thousands of years ago,there was a king in Israel who did evil in the sight of of the Lord.
He did it in the secret. A prophet was sent to him who explained his sin indirectly and with wisdom to him. He used a parable and it worked well.
Unknown to the king,he(the king) was quick to deliver a 'righteous' judgment on the sinner angrily. The stiff penalty was,
"As the Lord lives,the man who has done this shall surely die!
And he shall restore fourfold for the lamb,because he did this thing and because he had no pity." 2 Samuel12:6
The prophet of God was quick to inform the king,"You are the man!" verse7a.
Although,he did not die because God put away the sin when he repented but as he judged,four of his own children died.
The question now is,Are you not judging others as well? This is not your own assignment, please! Apostle Paul was right to state in Romans2:1
"Therefore you are inexcusable,o man
whoever you are who judge,
for in whatever you judge another
you condemn yourself;for you
who judge practice the same things."
Once you are guilty of the same sin that you judge others of,what right have you to bring them to judgment? Are you using their wrongdoings to cover your?
When someone is caught in adultery or fornication,are you always quick to bring condemnation on such fellow?
You are also guilty,moreso when yours remain hidden to mankind but known to God.
Possibly yours is the adultery or fornication of the heart,you are not free please. That is why the Lord said in Matthew7:1-2 thus
"Judge not,that you be not judged,
For with what judgment you judge,
You will be judged;and with the
measure you use,it will be measured back to you."
Will you like to know your true picture in such a situation? The Lord says in verses 3 and 4:
"And why do you look at the speck
in your brother's eye,but do not
consider the plank in your own eye?
Or how can you say to your brother,'Let me remove the speck from your eye;and look,a plank
is in your own eye?'"
In verse 5,a name is given to people of this kind,Hypocrite! You are then given an advice by the Lord,
"First remove the plank from
your own eye,and then you will
see clearly to remove the speck
from your brother's eye."
What you need to do now is to stop being self-righteous. Your righteousness is like filthy rags before the Lord.
You need to confess and repent of your sins and forsake them.
Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior,if you have not done so. He is the righteosness of God.
Obtain a copy of the Holy Bible,if you have not done so. Read and meditate on the Word of God regularly.
Join an assembly of believers and attend regularly their fellowship and growth.
Moreover,whenever you find a brothe or sister who commits a sin,heed the counsel of Apostle Paul as contained in Galatians6:1
"Brethren,if a man is overtaken
in any tresspass,you who are
spiritual restore such a one in a
spirit of gentleness,considering
yourself lest you also be tempted".
May the Lord uphold you and every believer forever in Jesus Name.
