UNSEEN INJURY

I’m a military man you see
I went to Viet Nam to serve
There I served my country true
A green marine where I became mean.

When there bad things I saw
Had to kill “Charlie in the draw
To many men killed and lay dead
The voices I hear are still in my head.

Help me
Save me
Heal me

This is the cry of men come back
I look alright to you but I’m not
My mind suffers and is now shot
My memories still under hostile attack.

Why do you ask? You don’t care
My mind you don’t know or share
You left me in the cold dark street
I beg for food, I really need some sleep.

Help me
Save me
Heal me

Oh Lord I need you tonight
Take me home I beg please
I’m hungry and I’m cold
My life blows in the cold breeze.
