PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN

We have many famous songs to choose
Ceremonies and celebrations we sing
Songs of America we really like to use
Feeling of pride for who we are it brings.

School children everywhere learn to be
It a tradition a right for every girl and boy
Young men fought and died for you and me.

It’s a sad day America, cultures can’t offend
If the word God, forbid if it’s in the song
One nation under God is what we defend
To be afraid of something like this is wrong.

Time to wake up America, This is America
With diverse cultures most have a God.
God is part of all cultures, not anti-American
Our thinking has become so flawed.

God isn’t black or white, He is a spirit you know
Time to get back to our senses before it’s to late
America, this America can’t stand another blow
Raise your voices you no longer can wait.

We fight and die for the right to speak
If cultures we are afraid we will offend
They are here because freedom they seek
Why send men to die if we can’t defend.

Other cultures come, America doesn’t hate
With welcome arms we make them our own
America, America you use to be so great
Beliefs our country was founded on you blown.
