The Apostle Paul in Romans 1:16 describes the Gospel as the Power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth. The gospel that came thru the death, burial and resurrection of Christ brings eternal life to those that believe. That belief isn't just mental assent to the facts, but a faith that moves mountains. The word 'power' used here in the Greek is the same word that translates dynamite. It can change a person from the inside completely, creating a new person without any trace of the former one. The old person is dead from the time we accept Christ as our Saviour. That person no longer has a hold on us. We are now in the Heavenlies with Christ.

Do we live that way? That is where the problem is. We still think in our heads that we are here on this planet, and so we don't live above the fray. We have to live as though we have already conquered all the earthly trials. We are beyond the Cross to the Conquest. Live life above the fray, believing that Christ has overcome it all. Don't allow the world to take the joy away. He is Risen. We are His.
