Real Heroes
With much sacrifice they gave
keeping our country free
Our Soldiers answered the call
Defending our liberty
A Heroes ceremony warranted
But was not always in store
Some protesters projected anger
At them instead of war
Those who paid with their lives
Their family bore the scars
Yet they handled it with valor
For the Stars and Bars.
To those who may not realize
The gift of their sacrifice
Simply living with freedom
its worth should suffice
On Memorial Day be Thankful
Pause and remember those
Lost lives of fallen soldiers
They are real heroes
