Poke em in the Eye

The apostle Paul commanded we repay evil with kindness
Id rather Poke em in the eye.
He said I should Boast in my Suffering, it produces endurance, character and hope
Whosoever caused my suffering; Id rather Poke em in the eye.
Show me the Atheist
Ill poke em in the eye!
Radicals &Liberals
Poke em in the eye!
Opposum, raccoon & weasels
Poke em All in the eye!
Who is left
Paul told me to Bless those who persecute me
Not Poke em in the eye?
Live Peaceably with all?
Not Poke em in the eye?
Feed my enemies?
Not Poke em in the eye?
What can this mean?
What does this mean?
The whole world would be blind
The whole world is blind
The temptation to use the fire poker is very powerful indeed
But
You can only be tempted with what lies deep within your heart
The combination is different for everyone
There are no seeds of Lust, not a problem for me- I am as content as I should be
Envy can not enter- I love being me
Sloth- I wish I had time to just sit
Gluttony- please moderation defines me
Wrath- I know vengeance is mine says the Lord- I won’t even dare to compete with the Almighty & his sword- wrath is his cup to serve
Now Pride I don’t know since humility is as elusive as the fox- I just don’t know when I may be operating in prides box. I try to keep the heart of a servant but even volunteers get awards- they’re stacked up in my den next to the fox fur stohl!
I’m free and clear of most deadly sin but still one persists
Its there in abundance, my trouble starts with him–
Its Anger as you probably could have guessed.
Fury resides somewhere in my heart and occasionally swells to rage. Thank goodness for self control or Id be behind a cage.
While on a peaceful protest, someone handed me a sign stapled to a stick- wheres the opposition- now that I have the perfect tool to Ill poke em in the eye
So for Lent one year I gave it up- the thing I had too much of- Anger
Again for Lent I gave it up- the thing I had too much of
Anger
Third Lent in a Row I gave it up- the thing I had too much of
Anger
It was not until I saw my enemy with the eyes of a mother’s heart, her tearful sobbing- she silently dies as she daily cries out.
– Every Terrorist, Rapist, Murderer and Addict has a Mother
At each step of her child’s less fortunate path- she suffers even more- May It bring her closer to God- the only place she will find peace
I replaced my anger with compassion and view my enemies with the eyes of my heart- We can experience Gods fire poker of Love by simply invoking the Dove
