Jesus Stood His Ground
Jesus although He had come from Heaven; lived as a man in the flesh. He had same like passions as a man. He was tempted in the same like passion as a man. If Satan can bind the strong man he can get to the sheep. It’s never about us; so we have to be very careful about the things we do and get into. If our message is not edifying to the sinner then we fail as the messengers of God to bring the Word to them. God’s Word is a lively stone that brings forth life to the dying soul.
St. John 1:14 and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
It says that John bare witness of him and cried saying; this was he of whom I spoke that would come after me is preferred before me, for he was before me. Not only that but we have received grace and truth which came by Him. He who knew no sin died for our sins. It had been declared aforetime that Christ would come by every Prophet of old since Moses; yet when He came He was not received by the people that it had been promised to that the Christ would come. Moses had the Law but Jesus Christ came and fulfilled the Law. He did not do away with it but lived accordingly despite what the pseudo (imitators, quasi, false) puns said. The Chief Priests had gotten to the point of living high in the King’s Palace and developed a sense of false pride. They were dignified and lordy, egotistical, haughty, arrogant and vain. Many today vexes the very Spirit of God with their demonstrated validated attitude of pride. Why do we need the approval of man to confirm who God is in our lives? If God call us He has already provided the way that we should go and that way is via Jesus Christ. If we follow the Word down through the life of Jesus on to the Cross and beyond we will find that God provided us with what He gave us in the beginning; His Word and His Spirit. God wants us to prosper and flourish but He wants this for His Glory. Jesus succeeded in the message of God to us; what are we thriving in? We are the people of God that is guilty of the blood; we are taking God’s glory.
No matter the protest Jesus stood His ground. The Church folks rejected Him, His Teachings and methods of bringing the Word to the people that was considered rejects. Jesus was the Champion of Grace. He was a defender of Truth. He was the proud sponsor of His Father and the benefactor of what they advocated. He put on a soul rally that no man have beat yet even in the midst of confusion, demonstrations, dissent and demur. Many opposed Him and disagreed with His strategy to bring the Spirit and Word back to the people once again but He protected the honor of the Father in spite of. We must know who we are and who it is we serve that we promote and further the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are to encourage the lost to see God as He is, help aid lost souls in finding their way back to God and support them through the nurturing and study of the Word in a way that they may advance in the Word through the Holy Spirit sent back by Jesus to make man a living soul once again.
Jesus aroused, inspired, incited, and urged sinners to repent and follow Him. We are encouraged to keep the faith and look to the promise that God gave us through His Covenant with man. God promised to always make a way for us just as He provided for Adam and Eve in the Garden. We are His number one priority as He should be in our lives also. We are preferred and take precedence over the sinner because we have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior over our life. The advantage we have is this; we are no longer hostage to a world system that will only keep us captive and hold us hostage privately in the confines of our hearts and minds. We have a right to praise, worship, and glorify God. In our glorifying we are not to deny Him intimacy.
Jesus stood His ground and its time that we as Christians hold fast to our profession of faith. Our principles, belief, opinion, teaching, and faith is based on the fundamental position God took in winning man back from the destruction of the flesh. He sent Christ, born of a woman in like fashion of man to lead and guide us back to Him by death and the grave in the most horrific way possible; a rugged cross. The Cross was the Romans mode of capital punishment. The Cross was made of wood but not too heavy or bulky to be carried by a strong man. God is looking for some strong men to carry that same Cross that carried the Gospel. Jesus tired just as any other man would and when the men saw that He was tired they compelled Simon the Cyrenian to bear his Cross for Him. Who is it among us that is willing to bear Jesus Cross today? In Luke 2:22-39 Jesus was recognized as the looked for Redeemer of Israel by an aged and devout man who was given spiritual vision. We lack spiritual vision from God today. Some say they see God but how are they seeing Him? God’s vision for man is that every knee shall bow and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord to men everywhere of every race or creed.
God is calling for men that will be soldiers willing to get out and be Evangelists in the streets, not in the Temples. Soldiers fight for the common interest of God. God is looking for an Army that will band together not fight one another with words of discouragement one to another. God wants men that will be firm, strong, and not willing to take down at the first sign of trouble. We must take the position that we will die in the Army of the Lord to combat the fear the Satan portrays to us where flesh rises and we aren’t willing to go all the way with God. The flesh is going to die anyway. God put His Spirit in man and it’s the Spirit that will live long after the flesh is turned back to the dust from whence it came. Satan wants us to miscarry and thwart God’s purpose for our lives. Satan is the God of disarray; confusion and disorder. He causes calamities, mishaps, failures, tragedies and catastrophes in the life of the Christian. He plant fear tactics, scares, and depression among the Saints. Satan is a rude, impolite, vulgar, impotent, and cruel entity in the life of man. He cannot be allowed to continue to run rampant in our lives. The buck stops here. Satan is an embarrassment and wants us to embarrass God. It’s time we detach, disengage, separate, and cut ourselves loose from the confines of his prison. It’s time to produce and reproduce saved souls in this world. We are the outcome of Jesus’ mission and should not take it lightly.
Jesus stood His ground and because He did we are who we are today; Saints, Christians. Let’s get it together and go and create a new soul winning design for our heavenly Father. We have to make a difference, we have to be different. That’s the only way to cause an effect on the sinner where they will conceive that they are to be a new creation in Christ. The greatest sin in the preaching of the early church was the failure to accept Jesus as the Christ. Is history repeating itself? We have a responsibility to God to go and preach the Gospel. Sure we will be hated and that hatred should drive us the more to hate sin. Man made in the image of God is capable of knowing God and returning His love. We will be accountable for the deeds done in our bodies. So many mar their bodies not just because it is a fad but because they don’t realize that what they are saying to God is ‘I don’t like the way you made me”. Our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Ghost; that Spirit God breathe in us when He made us. We must abstain from the appearance of evil. We need to examine ourselves, whether we are in the faith; and first prove our own selves. Jesus Christ in us the hope of Glory. It’s God’s Salvation, His righteousness, His peace, His love, His joy and His Kingdom. It’s all about God; not us. We need to submit today as Jesus did that for God we live and God we die.
Men and women, boys and girls need to make up their minds today; God wants to be glorified in us. For as much then as Christ has suffered for us in the flesh we need to arm ourselves likewise with the same mind. If men suffer in the flesh, they have ceased from sin that they no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men but to the Will of God. God has made a sure way that we don’t have to die a sinner. For this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh; but live according to God in the Spirit.
