One of the amazing observations of my dotage is the increasing awareness of the simple yet profound truth of scripture. Take Albert Einstein's statement on learning as a starter: "Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death." I like Al's statement.

The problem is that no one has adequately described intellectual from pseudo intellectualism. Paul mentioned this dilemma in 2 Timothy 3:7 "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." Paul was describing marks of the last days. No sensible person would deny that we are living in the information explosion set off primarily via the Internet. This is prophesied in Daniel 12:4 "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."

Certainly people are busier than ever before in history and we know more than any generation is history. The unasked question is sobering when reflected upon. "Is most of what we know worth knowing?" Is our knowledge truth or mere opinion?

Christians are to be in line with Einstein's statement see 1 Peter 2:2 "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:" This desire for God's Word is to be lifelong. Knowing what God says about knowledge is a good filter to assure that you are getting genuine knowledge.
