As I sat and waited on someone to walk by the table where I was signing copies of my book, Outrageous Forgiveness In 30 Days at the Open Door Christian Book Store here in Terre Haute, I noticed a plaque across the aisle stating:

"Hope is the ability to hear the music of tomorrow. Faith is the courage to dance to it today."

It's almost certain the writer had a plateful of Indiana corn just prior to the above creative binge, but when you think about it, the saying is right on point.

How often the Bible reminds us of the beauty of heaven and can we number the gospel songs, even hymns about that City of Gold and Pearl? The music of heaven can and has strengthened my commitment to Christ on many a dark path.

When all seems lost in this Vale of Tears, a song, a verse about heaven does stir up the courage to face the "lions" of life, to dance as it were to God's tune for us as revealed in scripture. The poems of heaven fill life's dark night times with courage to fight on for Jesus. It's safe to say Abraham gathered courage along today's lines. Hebrews 11:10 "For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God."
