Our Lord told of the frailty of our faith and warned believers from the beginning that serving Him would be fraught with danger of all kinds the ultimate being martyred for faith in Him. Christ said in Matthew 24:9 "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake."

Even a slight glance at media reports strikes fear in the hearts of many that the time is fast approaching in our country when the above and many verses are to be fulfilled in the literal sense in which they were uttered. A time of testing is undoubtedly at hand as many are in conspiracy to usher in the long prophesized one world religion in which man is enthroned as God.

That we Christians endured the fierce lions in the arena and later brutality exceeding that of the Romans is history. In our time about all we have had to "fear" is the frown of other Christians who would if able burn those with whom they disagree on literal stakes instead of mere assassination by media. Of course this is not new. Augustine made note of it when he wrote, "He that injures me adds to my reward."

Each serious Christian must at different points along the journey take a stand for biblical truth. While others are promoting some false concept that cannot stand the light of day, you must take comfort from the idea of Augustine and our Lord who said in Matthew 5:12, "Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." Are people, including other believers on your case? Flee to the Word and stand up for Jesus.
