When a relationship takes a spill
its hard not to get wet
With tears of anger and pain
boat loads of regret

Often the one who wants out
has selfish motives to hide
They lash out for their guilt
and hurt they feel inside

Their problems may be self induced
negative perceptions extreme
They try to say you are unworthy
Lowering your self esteem

When they convince themselves
They are better off to leave
This is time to guard your heart
allow yourself to grieve

Reconciliation is a process
It takes more than one day
Shakily walking on eggshells
Fearing what to say

If a spouse decides to leave
Not giving love a chance
One can only let them go
You cannot change their stance
