When words are not enough

In times like these words fall short
Friends are lost for what to say
So often they recoil in silence
Quietly they pray

They want to let one know they care
In empathy they reach out
Recalling loss from their own past
Hurts,pain or doubt

They want to urge hope will come
Although time will not undue
One can gain strength day by day
As God carries them through

By granting oneself time to mourn
Living each day by the hour
Leaning on friends and family
One can regain power

When words are simply not enough
Friends wish to make it clear
Although they may stand silent
They want to say...I am here.
