Between earth and water
Holding his head down
He climbs on the clouds
Lost, he meanders
Silent in wonder
Falling apart into
Pieces of pottery

Lost, he meanders
Dreaming of colors
Shapes of the morning
Folding and crumpling
Lost, he meanders
Palm fronds like feathers
Brush by his cheeks
Caught by surprise

Lost, he meanders
Too close to disaster
An ethereal song
Pulling him in
Lost, he meanders
The stars seem much closer
Burning at arm's-length
He bursts into tears

Lost, he meanders
Seeking a lover
Of simpler moments
And quiet reflection
Lost, he meanders
It may be forever
Yet he'll not be stilled
'Til light lives in his midst
