When Knocking Works

For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Every so often those who work for themselves or others go through questions or doubts about their work effort or efforts. Unfinished projects, stacks of files or papers, unavoidable meetings makes one wonder why they entered their profession or how they might get through such a miserable day.

Generally, bad work days are often initiated by exhaustion, being overwhelmed by the amount of work, depression, home related pressures. Whenever a person begins to experience such burdens, those of the world will lash out, consume some sort of drug/medication, call in sick are the predominant alternatives. Christians are, on the other hand, are encouraged to take such burdens that weigh them down and give them over to the Lord through prayer.

The prayer one says does not have to be long, on one’s knees or to some standard. As one prays, the Lord will guide what projects to complete, which one’s to avoid as well as lower anxiety and burdens. Be aware that God does not work to human standards. God’s help may come at that moment, in an hour, a day, week maybe in a year. It is important through to keep praying, listening and He will guide you to completion.

When one evaluates the results of their work efforts, that individual will be amazed at how much work will be completed, the ease it was completed as well as why he or she was so concerned about their task or tasks in the first place!


Prayer: Lord, thank you for confronting me with issues that drive me to prayer as well as prayer
that removes trouble from me.
