Sunday 1/15/12 Pastor Michael sermon-God’s Divine Design:You the Man! Genesis 1:26-27, 2:15-16, 3:4-7

Manhood is not the way the world defines it: the ball field, the bedroom and the bill fold. The 3 B’s. The world defines a man as how he hits, throws or bounces a ball. The world defines manhood by how many women he has to have sex with. The world defines manhood by how much money he makes. God has a divine design for what man is supposed to be and what women are supposed to be. The man is to lead and take care of the woman. God’s design for manhood is in Genesis.

1) A Real man is a Divine Image Bearer. Gen 1:26

God said let us make man in our image. God was in total harmony with himself and is a self contained God and needs no one. We are as men, body, soul and spirit. We are not just physical but spiritual too. Our soul makes us unique. We can think, rationalize and commune with God. Man is the only creation that can give fellowship back to God. A godly man cannot be a man unless he realizes that there is God =a righteous God!

If we knew that were image bearers and should act like God, we wouldn’t act like we do and go places where we would not take God. When people look at man, they are supposed to see God. Image bearers. We ought to see God when we look at a godly man= a man of God.
If you are smoking dope=stop cause you are a man of God! If you are a womanizer=stop cause you are a man of God! No matter how you messed up, you must realize that you are made in the image of God and you should be doing better! The God we serve can do all things! You were made in God’s image and you are a man of God , an image bearer and its time to come out of the closet and be what God had made you to be!

God made us to be fearfully and wonderfully made! Man is the male, masculine side of God in the earth. Image bearer! Man is made in His image and in His likeness so act like it! Act like an image bearer not God. That’s the problem with some men, they walk around like they are a god. We are to reflect the image of what God is. If men do this, the women will be happier!



2) Man is an Initiator-a Leader

Eve wasn’t made yet when God gave Adam the Garden of Eden rules. God told Adam hew was to take care of Eve and take care of the garden. God put Adam to work right away. Today we have too many weak men-chumps and that’s why some women are loud/bossy. Women want strong men, men of God.

I Cor 11:3 Christ is the head of man, man is head of the woman. The man should lead in the worship and praise of God! Walk in God and in leadership. Man needs to lead in worship and prayer. Most women are five times more spiritual than man! Its not supposed to be that way. Man is supposed to be the spiritual leader, not the woman.

Man was created to be industrious=to work. God created man this way. God gave Adam a job, to cultivate the garden. Adam also had to name all the animals. Scientists say there are 30 million animals. When Eve came on the scene, everything was already finished and prepared for her. Adam was a worker. There is something in man that he has to work. God made it that way! A real man was made to work! Give a man a job and he will calm down. You the man because God created you that way!
