I’m told I see the world differently than most. I don’t know if that is true because I don’t know how others see the world. That said, if I see the world differently, I believe it is because of my life – blessings and trials included. I used to think my experiences were unique. Now that I’m older, I have begun to understand that is not the case. I mean, after all, if you sum up my life, you wind up with 8 words:
· Daughter

· Sister

· Child of God

· Student

· Employee

· Mother

· Wife

· Friend

I’m sure if you are reading this you can identify with at least 1 of those words? So since we have so much in common, I’m sure you’ll agree that life is challenging. Life is full of struggles, battles, joys and triumphs.
I wonder though…have you ever thought or realized that everyone you look at is struggling in some way just like you? It is very easy to think we are the only ones in a hurry or the only ones with sick kids at home or – even – the only ones who have lost a loved one. In reality, the question we should be asking others is not “how are you?” but, instead, the question should be “how can I help you today?”
Think about how quickly we could change the world if we stopped focusing on our personal struggles and frustrations but instead focused on helping others with their personal struggles?
If you are truly a Child of God, why worry about your own problems? God has put you on this earth for a reason, a purpose, to satisfy a real need. Are you fulfilling your call? Maybe it is as simple as smiling at the person in the same aisle at the grocery store or buying a cup of coffee for a stranger. Or it could be just knowing that the world does not revolve around you. Imagine if you could change the world just by acknowledging that fact. After all – did you know that the world actually does revolve around the sun?
