Larry Lilly's Letter Tuesday 1-10-12

While browsing through Facebook the other day I noticed a statement on Annika Banfield's page that caught my attention. I know Annika only through the Internet and the part she played in publishing my article, "They Call Us Indians" in Nordic outlets and a book about Native Americans also in one of the languages. Annika said:

"When you stop chasing the wrong things, you give the right thing a chance to catch you."

Most of us grasp the truth that running away from things is not as healthy as pursuing a goal. Yet we more than less pursue a goal or goals that is not worthy of our effort. By this I mean that we may be on the trail of good goal, but that particular goal is not one that God has planned for us. Many scripture texts give at least a clue as the how to ascertain the worthiness of our goal. Paul says in Colossians 3:1 "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God."

This verse clearly states that our life goals should contain elements of heaven. This is especially true to those who are risen with Christ via true salvation. I ask the question based on Paul's statement; when I accomplish this goal what is the eternal value?
