There has been a lot of discussion in the media lately around the 2011 entertainment reviews. Numerous organizations have been collaborating to gather information on the highlights of this year, the Hollywood who, what, when and where. So far, this is some of the information that has been reported:

• Highest grossing movie: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow Part 2
• Highest book sales: Steve Jobs Bio by Walter Isaacson
• Album of the Year: Adele 21
• Most searched person on Google: Justin Bieber (why doesn’t that surprise me)
• Most searched recipe on Google: chicken recipes (doesn’t surprise me either)

So, now here are some of my 2011 highlights; the Keisha who, what, when and where (our highlights are just as important as theirs).

• Graduated with my MBA
• Accepted my calling in to ministry (helping others reach and maintain their purpose in life)
• Started blogging and writing (the Lord has blessed me with a multitude of followers)
• Found my true self (now I am a better mother, friend, woman, Child of God)
• Secured financial responsibilities (He has really blessed me here-man, oh man)

The main reason for my list is to take a look back over my past (recap and release), and use that to help me move forward in my future (renew). This list goes on and on because I have so much more that I’m blessed for, and so much that He’s allowed me to accomplish in such a short period of time. And, what’s truly amazing is that I already know 2012 is going to be even better. He has me “full speed ahead” in my growth, and I embrace it all (some of it even surpasses what I ever thought I could achieve…but I’m ready-stay tuned).

Have you looked back over your 2011 to help shape your 2012? I don’t mean dwell in the past…the past is the past for a reason; however, you don’t ever want to block it out so much that you can’t grow from it. Think like a farmer harvesting his crops… if he has a “bad season”, he’s not going to continue to do the same things he did during that “bad season”, instead, he replants new crops (release and renew), and uses his “bad season” as a learning mechanism, “What could I do differently to yield better results?”. Remember, some things are out of our control (like weather to a farmer); however, it’s how we prepare that makes all the difference (properly positioning yourself prepares you for the unexpected). Remember this also, we go through things for a divine reason (all the good and the bad)…what’s your reason? Once you figure it out…keep it in prayer. Smootches!
