Proverbs 1:2-3; NKJV:
“To know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding, to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity.”
The purposes of the book of Proverbs is to harvest the proficiency of godly living through wisdom and instruction, and to cultivate discernment. The word ‘understanding’ in this scripture text refers to the mental behavior that readies on for spiritual discernment. This scripture is a very intimate calling to God for increased understanding and spiritual knowledge. What a wonderful way to start out the new year than with a new-found relationship with God, and a better understanding of your purpose in life. God Bless!
