I was talking with a friend one day. We were discussing Christmas, when my friend confides in me, that her little girl was not getting much for Christmas. I didn’t think much about it about it because a lot of people were have difficulties this time of the year.

Two days later, on Christmas Eve at breakfast with my husband, the little girl came to mind. I had to find out just how much, “not much” was. When I called my friend, she had gotten her 3 small gifts. I know that a lot of kids don’t get much, if anything for Christmas, but if we could help this little girl, then we would.

I asked what she wanted for Christmas. It was Barbie toys and Hello Kitty. We set off on Christmas Eve morning to buy her the gifts. We do not have a lot of money, but God had blessed us with good deals and a bonus from my husband’s job. When you think God is laying something on your heart, you just do it, if it is within your means.

We went to a lot of stores, finding nothing we could afford. Everything was picked through of course. We ended up at Walmart (where you do not want to go on Christmas Eve.) I looked around for at least 30 minutes in the same two isles. I found a nice Barbie and a huge baby doll. No Hello Kitty anywhere! That is what she had asked for. I prayed, “Lord, please let me find something this little girl wants and not just any toy.”

We were so pressed for time, with all the holiday family gatherings that I was starting to get nervous. About the time I felt like giving up, I walked toward electronics and out in the clear blue, sat a Hello Kitty. OH MY! I knew at that moment it was from the Lord. I had looked everywhere, none to be found at any store anywhere.

Things like that don’t just happen, it is God who does His precious work to bring it about. Obviously, someone had decided to leave it and I walked up on it. That next day, when she opened her gift, she looked at her mom and said this is the exact Hello Kitty I wanted. She had never shown her mom that exact toy. Her mom looked at her and said. “Honey, God knows!”

Wow! You know God cares about everyone, but to see a little girl’s wish for Christmas come true is exciting. There is so much Hello Kitty out there, how would I know which one to get, even if they could be found? I got the one God put in my path because He knew what the little girl wanted. He cares about our needs and our desires.
If He will give a little girl a gift like that, won’t He take care of our needs and the desires of our heart. It is so incredible to watch how He works on our behalf.
