When I can get it out of the hands of one Great Blonde I am trying to read Dr. Phil Stringers new 417 page Volume One of The Foundations of Our World. At the current pace it may rival Will Durant's Story of Our Civilization. On page 263 Dr. Stringer quotes H.G. Wells thusly:

"I am an historian, I am not a believer, but I must confess as a historian that this penniless preacher from Nazareth is irrevocably the very center of history. Jesus Christ is easily the most dominant figure in all history."

If the statement by H.G. Wells is true and I am certain it is, why do educators attempt to place Christ in the backwaters of history? Why is the dominance of Christ played down in so many religious schools, colleges and especially churches?

I am aware of the camaraderie enjoyed by the supposed academia of our time based on their mutual disgust for things Godly or even high and noble. I can even understand their outrage at the idea of Christianity. Faith is a gift from God and if you do not believe in God why would you promote faith? On the other hand if you can read and you attempt to claim the high ground of historical truth, why ignore Jesus Christ and His influence on the world, so much so that the bulk of the civilized world until recently was dubbed, Christendom?

The marginalizing of Christ and His influence is possible only because of Christians who remain as silent as the night. I unabashedly proclaim allegiance to Christ and in so doing attest to His superiority above all other faiths. I do not recommend conversion via the sword. Neither do I place hymnals from inferior faiths beside those of the faith once delivered unto the saints. One major reason for the decline in strident Christian faith is captured in a statement by Monacan Indian, Mitakuye Oyasin in response to her uncles challenge concerning the Indian culture. He had remarked that Moccasins were not for wearing for PowWows but for everyday walking. She comments:

"Even though we live in a white man's world, we have to live there as Indians. Of course I don't mean that you have to wear buckskins to work (even though they are very comfy). What I mean is that we must live, not "Preserve" the ideals of our ancestors every day. We must put to practice those things that guided their lives; generosity, honesty, fortitude, bravery, faith etc. If we can put our feet in those mocs and Walk every day, even though we may not measure up to everyone else's idea of what an Indian should be and do, we will be the Creator's Indian."

I have sneaky idea that we are spending too much time attempting to preserve our faith in Christ on special occasions rather than putting it to practice. Just saying…
