When in deep slumber I lay
I saw a very bright ray.
I looked up and behold!
I saw the Sacred Heart of our Lord
Tears streaming down His face,
Hands outstretched towards me
With a solemn plea.

The radiance in the room dispelled my fears
Though, I could feel the warmth of the tears.
Soon, our Lady appeared besides her Son
Her Immaculate heart a treasured sight
Her eyes too brimming with tears.

I looked at the Lord’s apologetic eyes
The message crystal clear.
He had come to take me
Silently awaiting my response.
I held my hand out without hesitation
Ready to be taken along with Him.

In an instant, I was up in the sky
My spirit flying ever so high.
I looked down at the earth below
Rueful for a moment to have left
Without a final farewell.

I found myself amidst the stars
Darkness illuminated with flashes of light.
I woke up with a sudden start
To find myself still on earth.
I could not help but ponder
The underlying meaning of the dream.

The lingering doubt will always remain
A thought from which I can never refrain.
Did I go half way through that night?
Was I sent back to earth on a second chance?
Only the Lord can reveal this mystery to me
In His own very Time.
