Waking up and stretching on my bed,
Gathering the thoughts in my head,
Looking into the mirror, I say,
“Just another ordinary day.”

Brushing my teeth tapping my feet,
I smile, tap dancing to an unfamiliar beat.
Stepping into the shower,
Light-headedness I discover!

I get this feeling that everything is going my way.
I am not even having a bad-hair day!
Breakfast done and I am off to work.
No traffic jam and I get a place to park.

Sitting at my desk I look out the window,
I gaze at the world buzzing around me below.
I realize I have no reason to complain.
I have never had any great loss but gained!

Life has been so good to me.
It’s given me a home, a job and a family!
What can I give back to a God who has been but fair?
A heart full of love and all my care,

For the world that He created to make me smile,
To reach out and make life worthwhile,
To break the shackles of prejudice and soar,
Yes, heaven is knocking at my door.
