Encouragement

I saw Him before me His arms were opened wide
He said,” come with me to the other side”

As I looked I saw the road ahead
It was rough and dry and I ached with dread

He assured me though that it would be okay
He said, “I would help… with you I will stay”

Many times as we traveled I stumbled and fell
As He gently helped me up He said, “All is well”

I grew tired, thirsty and began to cry
Again He spoke, “the night is almost over and morning is nigh

A little while longer and you will know my rest
As you see enter I shall call you blessed”

“Lord, I am not worthy of this love that you give,”
He spoke with deep compassion, “follow me and live”

As many times as I have gone my own way
He calls me back to his side
Never to tell me that I am not worthy
But to speak of why He died

He said, “I am the way the truth and life
Let go of all fears worry and strife

Salvation is my yoke and my burden is love
Take these upon you and rise above

The fall has been hard and the way is steep
Press into me and your life I will keep

Do not hang on to the hurt and the pain
I created the seasons but I do not change.
