When there were days my heart was heavy
and when my soul was sinking low
You came and touched me tenderly
like no one else I know
You turned my dark nights into day
and you proved your love to me
You took my sorrows and turned them to joy
then once more my eyes could see
You mended all that was broken
and you calmed the inner man
For through my many trials and tests
to me you held out your hands
So Lord, how can I thank you
when you have blessed me so much?
In so many ways, I can't express
just how truly my heart you've touched
You allowed me to see your blessings
while in the troubles I had
You showed me wonders, that I never thought
when in those moments, that I was sad
so this is how I'll thank you
For giving me the words to say
When once I beheld your loving kindness
to express it to you this way
There is no one that's like you
who can give the joy you gave
So I truly do want to thank you, Lord,
for even giving me a chance to be saved
