It was fall of 1999 when God saw in my heart that I was serious about Him and that He could count on me to do His work, He recruited me into His Family Business. Our mission is to touch minds, hearts and lives, and ultimately save souls. I will share with you that it has been an awesome, fulfilling, rewarding and a blessed experience!

Hey, God didn’t waste any time with tasking me. I got my first assignment in April 2000: write a book with short messages referencing scriptures. No. 1, writing wasn’t my thing and No. 2, I wasn’t Bible versed. So I said, “Lord, I’ll do it but you have to lead the way”. And He did! In 4 months I wrote “A Time To Reflect”. This is a testimony that God can use anyone for His honor and glory. I’d like to take this opportunity to say “Thank You” to you who have shared with me how the book has helped and blessed you. Please know that all glory goes to God. I was only the vessel.

In September 2000 after I finished writing my book, God gave me a job in private industry. He told me that He was not only placing me there to do the job I was hired to do “with excellence” (which I did) but to also do His work: to be there for the people and let His love shine through me. At the time God told me this, I didn’t quite understand the magnitude of this assignment but I will share with you that during the 9 years I worked there, many seek me to talk about their problems (work, home, health, relationships, finances -- you name it). A co-worker even nicknamed me “The Chaplain”. I was there for individual needs and helped many get through difficult times. I listened, gave advice, comforted, encouraged, restored hope, uplifted; we cried, prayed and read scriptures. I was privileged to touch many lives! I’m truly humbled and at the same time honored to have been used in this way. And I’m still doing it! It’s amazing how God can use you in a mighty way if you allow Him.

God gave me another assignment in August 2010, after my Mother, Hyacinth Wilson, went to be with Him (May 2010): write monthly reflections. I dedicate these reflections in loving memory of my Mother who set the Godly foundation in me. These messages are for you to stop and take A Time To Reflect on the things you are going through and to encourage you to seek God and know Him personally.

Yes, it’s been a year and this is my 12th message! I never thought that I’d be doing this… what can I say. People have asked me how I pick my topics. The truth is, I never know what I’m going to write until that day. When I wake-up that morning, God gives me the message and all I do is write it. And I’ll be honest, there have been a few times that I’ve said to myself “no more” (hey, I have my moments too!) but then one of you shares with me how the message has touched you. Then God says to me, “I’ve told you that every message is for someone”. So, since I’m an obedient daughter, I will continue writing for as long as my Heavenly Daddy gives me messages to write. To you who have shared with me how a message has touched you or have given me encouraging words… thank you so much!

Every assignment God has given me, He has equipped me to do it. And I will continue to carry out my divine assignments with love and obedience. As I’ve told folks “I do as I’m told.” And “I go with God’s flow.” This has truly worked for me! And folks, it’s not about liking it or not, feeling adequate or inadequate, thinking it’s important or not, or getting recognized or not. It’s about doing God’s work and making a difference in someone’s life in whatever way God calls you to do so!

I pray for God’s blessings over each one of you. I want to thank you for reading and passing on these reflections to your family and friends. And I want to give a special thanks to my loving husband, Carlos, for his continued support in all that I do. God has surely blessed me with a wonderful man. And special thanks to the phenomenal people who have in one way or another supported, encouraged and prayed for me.

Utmost, I want to thank God for using me to share with you His message of love, peace, joy and hope, and most importantly His message of salvation.

I’m doing my part in God’s Family Business. I hope you are too!

“God has given gifts to each of you from his great variety of special gifts. Manage them well so that God’s generosity can flow through you. Are you called to be a speaker?
