Got no choice but to catch my breath,
   how I got here I seem to forget.
Just one step ahead of my death,
Oh, how I'm glad He paid my debt.

I lost my pace, along with my drive.
I can't remember when I was alive.
I don't seem to know which way to go.
Doesn't seem to matter; win, place or show.

It's not how fast I leave the gate.
It's how steady I keep my pace.
It's not about the world thinking I'm  great.
It's about the Author of my faith.

I got no money, or its regret.
The Lord remembers me. My sin He forgets.
I can't save myself. I'm not that good.
My heart alone can't love. My kindness is rude.

I got to keep it moving, or it's my undoing;
   abide in my One thing. Got to keep renewing.
Even with the bad things, it's still a good thing;
   the dark in my heart, with Light He's removing.

I got no money, or its regret.
It's in holy blood He sealed my fate.
When I'm trusting Him, not hedging a bet.
Can't find a reason for me to fret.

It's not in the speed, or the technique.
It's in the Lord, Whom I must seek.
It's not in anything that I must do.
It's in the Spirit, when I'm renewed.
