Life Is But a Poem

Life is but a poem
With many, many lines
Some lines are a struggle
Some lines have perfect rhyme

Life has many highs
And sometimes many low’s
Life on earth is but our preparation
To sit at the heavenly table with whom we know

Many lines bring us such joy
Then many make us sad
As we are dying to our self
So that in Him we can become glad

It seems that every day
We walk through a new verse
Just more preparation
To cause us to repel all of the adverse

To me a good poem
Has a message that is clear
One that encourages us to stand
As our Lord’s coming is very near

A poem to me is about beauty
Like what we have found in Him
When He took away all of our darkness
And forgave us of all of our sin

The closer we get to Jesus
The more our poem will rhyme
Though we do not know what we will be
We know we will be like Him, for all time.
