The Wrong Cup

At times I think of all the words
Which are available for man to read
Words that sometimes can help
A person that has a need

Yet there are so many words
Ever wonder how to know which are true?
Which ones do we believe?
Which ones are construed?

Words have such an impact
When we take them into our heart and believe
Some will put us into bondage
Others will set us free

The only way I seem to know
Which words are the best
Do they line up with God’s Word?
If they don’t, they fail the test

We must be careful in what we hear
Also in what we read
We sometimes allow words into our spirit
When on the wrong things we do feed

Many think that there is no absolute
That any word is true
Guess that’s why newspapers and books are believed
Though much of what is said is untrue

God says that He confirms His Word
Never the words of man
God’s Words are spirit and important
As they bring life and make us stand

Next time you hear some words
See if they to God’s standard line up
If they don’t then you’ll know
That you’re drinking from the wrong cup.
