President’s Day: The New Version

While eating lunch at the CiCi’s pizza restaurant in Midwest City, Oklahoma, a father and daughter sat enjoying their plates of selected pizza. Interested in learning what his 2nd grade, 7year old daughter was learning at Traub elementary school asked: “Today is an important day. Can you tell me what today is, angel?”

“Sure, dad! Today is President’s Day!”

“Very good, Princess! Good job! You are a very smart young lady! So what does President’s Day mean?”

“Well, dad, it means that if President Obama steps out of the White House and if he sees his shadow, we’ll have one more year of high unemployment, gas prices will get higher and more people will be homeless.”

The dad almost choked on his pizza and spilled his drink on himself and the floor as his daughter presented a wide, broad smile.
