THE TABLE OF COMMUNION
Regal were His robes and station
laid aside by Him, at great cost,
to save mankind of every Nation,
knowing He would suffer loss,
His heart was set upon the Cross.
A glowing plan had He,
blessed by God
to be the Savior,
an Arrow from the Hand of God,
the Sacrifice for sin, His Blood.
We now remember Him,
engaging in the wine
and the crumb of bread;
giving thanks to Him for
what He’s done and said.
A broken heart
that’s contrite, the
Lord will not despise,
but one that is attrite,
gains no favor in His eyes.
The contrite heart says,
"I have sinned, I’ve
done evil in Your sight."
I beg of You forgive me,
cleanse me, set me right.
The attrite heart says
explaining, "I did not intend
for it to end the way
that it’s turned out,"
"It was another’s wrongdoing,
the blame, You see,
is not on me."
Let us now be contrite,
confessing every sin
as before Him are bowing,
asking to be forgiven and
to be made clean by Him.
As we now give thanks for all
that was the cost to Him
to offer us salvation,
let us now remember Him,
by taking the wine and
bread crumb,showing forth
His death, until He comes.
