Whenever one gets the nod, its easy to think highly of oneself. Yet knowing who ordains, who gives and who permits, we would rather unthink of ourself as high. Christ taught a very special thing saying if thou receive rewards from men, it is done for you. In other words, you can no longer claim the reward of heaven after receiving that of men.

Well one would ask and say: "How can i stop men from giving me rewards?". Remember, it is not their giving but your receiving of it that matters. If you 'receive' rewards of men, you cannot claim that of heaven.

Also, another would say, "Nothing is wrong with my recommendations, they are purely Spiritual!" But its not about 'your' comments, its about 'my' reaction. For in many cases, we are fed with praises of good intent; yet because of the human nature, we end up exalting ourselves.

Think of Nebuchadnezzar, how God was with him, and he started seeing himself better than anyone or anything else. Thats how the fall from grace looks like when one permits men's giving to be recieved in his heart.

Jesus Christ goes on to say, "If all men speak well of you, beware, for the gentiles do the same thing!". How i would love to stick to God's judgements day in day out! How precious it would be for us to understand the virtue and strength of God's promise for us in heaven.

If the Lord be for us who are in Christ, who can by any means be against us? In Jesus Christ's name, Amen!
