Acts 5:38-39 ...for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: 39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it;...

I guess these words are the wisest i heard from a man who was not an apostle of the Lord. For in them, he declares the authority that God has on this earth. In these words we find hope of a brighter future despite the bold persecutions that they have on us as men of God.

Galiel had probably been looking at the activity around quietly analysing the situation. As emotions had been overwhelmingly throwing around the room; with accusations and defences flying from one end to the other, it was the power of the Holy Ghost that stirred a man to think deeply into the situation and see beyond what the eye perceives.

So he stood up and said the words above. In other words, he was saying that nothing can overcome what God has ordained. I love it when anyone praises God in such a fashion. To give him all glory and honour. To deny any man a thought of self driven motives.

It would be very good to see men and women of today looking at life's challenegs in such a fashion. For we know that if God be for us, who can be against us. Praise be to God, in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen!
