I see my heart, my God,
   in the blood of Your Son. 
I heard my hands applaud,
   as they scourged the Holy One.

I saw my sin upon the cross,
   born by the One You've Christened.
He the gold covered with my dross,
   in the body that You gave Him.

You are the One who sent,
   and the One who sees me.
You are pleased that He was rent,
   for it's His blood that frees me.

Your very Best took up my worse,
   the best my heart could offer.
If heaven sung a woeful dirge,
   the city heard its sinful scoffers.

This Blade of heaven was cut from life.
   that when I die I'll live again.
This Sword of Truth was sacrificed,
   that I might live despite my sin.

I'm only broken, poor in spirit,
   in this He's glorified.
He rose again. I believe it,
   inviting Him to abide.

I know not this man that's me.
It seems I am renewed.
The Spirit came and He freed,
   in Him I am imbued. 

With this Gift He gives much more,
   and I am rich of heaven.
Though the world sees me poor,
   by His love I am driven.

I see the Land, home of God,
   bought for me with mighty blood.
I see my King and I applaud,
   realizing how I am loved.
