Sunday 4/3/11 Pastor Ed sermon Only Believe-Believe Only Part 4
Matt 17:21, Mark 9:22-24, II Cor 5:7

II Cor 5:7 We walk by faith and not by sight. We must stand against doubt and unbelief. We must guard against the doubt that is all around us everyday.

Unbelief from Our Senses:

This is what we see, hear and feel. Matt 17:21 We must pray and fast to overcome this type of unbelief. We must believe and NOT be moved by what we see, hear and feel. We must pray, believe in God and wait for a manifestation from God.

Only Believe - Believe Only! It was the “senses realm” that defeated Peter’s faith when he was walking on the water with Jesus. Peter saw the high waves, heard the water rushing and felt scared. This is what put the doubt in his mind and then he began to sink. We must be careful not to be around people who have or get doubt from what they see.

Things to Be Careful Of:

1) Its Inportant who you hang around with: People with doubt will make you start to say doubt and think doubt too. Doubt is contagious and brings about unbelief.

2) Seeing, hearing and forgetting: When we see or hear something scary, we then forget that Jesus can do ALL things. This makes doubt. Or when we put a “if” in our prayer when we ask Jesus to do something. We are then showing doubt about Jesus’s ability to do ALL things. Mark 9:24 We can believe but still have unbelief and doubt. This condition causes us to lose the blessing from God because our faith must be pure. Jesus said this kind of unbelief goes out by prayer and fasting

**Don’t go by what we see, hear or feel…..HAVE FAITH!

Everything we have need of is in us. If Christ, the Holy Spirit is in us, then All---Everything we have need of is in us. We need to get all we need, out of us.

What we have is in our spirit but we must renew our minds and get our thinking right.
With a renewed mind, we can get the valve open and let the rivers of living waters come out of our spirit. The knowledge and wisdom of God is inside of us but we have to get to it and bring it out of us.

We must Only Believe! Death and life is in the power of the tongue. The tongue is part of the valve that turns on the spirit that’s inside of us. Our prayers to God must be as Paul said in Ephesian 1:18 We must pray that our eyes and understanding be opened to see what God has already done for us. The richs of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. Faith is what releases it. It is already here inside us.
