(Leviticus 26; 1-13)
Reward for Obedience
1 “‘Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the LORD your God.
2 “‘Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.
3 “‘If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, 4 I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. 5 Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land.
6 “‘I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid. I will remove wild beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country. 7 You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you. 8 Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.
9 “‘I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. 10 You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new. 11 I will put my dwelling place[a] among you, and I will not abhor you. 12 I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people. 13 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high.

Don’t be fooled in thinking the Old Testament is only for the Israelites and have no meaning today, Jesus came not to replace the law but to renew it for ALL mankind. And to deny that America is a Christian society and God’s hand was not in its creation is just as narrow-minded. Our belief today that We control our destiny, is denying all that our parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and all previous generations accomplished and sacrificed to build this country for Gods Glory. It means rejecting the history books, rewriting our great speeches, removing the memorials to fallen heroes that gave their lives so others would live according to Gods will, free from oppression.

History shows when we were a God fearing Nation he rewarded us, as he promised. An unorganized group of colonies that no longer wanted to be oppressed, made up of lawyers, businessmen, and farmers, took on the superior force of professional British soldiers and defeated them to create America. Sound a little like the struggles that the Israelites went through at Jerico? What about our great depression? God did not let us stand by and feel sorry for ourselves, he showed our leaders where we needed to change, to create jobs and secure incomes through Social Security and Unemployment. That is what a responsible society does to take care of the people, as God has directed. But America wanted to stay isolated even when WWII broke out, even though other nations were being oppressed we wanted to stay neutral. Not under Gods law we had a responsibility to help other gain the same freedom God had rewarded us with.

World War II has to be the best example in history of Gods hand in world development. How was it with all the warning signs we received, our leaders missed the Japanese movements toward Pearl Harbor? It was like a smoke screen put over our eyes. Was it Gods will for us as a nation to get involved? I believe it was and God was there with us every step of the way, guiding our leaders to organize the country in an industrial build up never seen before. Mass enlistments in the military, massive troop movements overseas and a nation determined to remove the Evil from the world. How was it that Germany, an experienced and aggressive military missed plans to land in Normandy, that even though losses were high the Allies were able to move inland and push the Germans back? In the Pacific an enemy that showed it had the power and the Industrial might along with an experienced Military leadership to take control of the region, miss American carrier fleet movement? This allowed the Americans to Find the Japanese fleet and decimate the Japanese carriers with the loss of only one American carrier and turning the war. At home the development of the bomb, which has only been used in one war, but the result was so devastating that the world was afraid to use it again.

The answer to all the above is God, is it a surprise that during this time and a full generation after that church attendance was up, almost double from previous generations?
New churches had to be built, prayer was a way of life in America, and after the war? Yep, just as God promised we were rewarded, prosperity, families, plenty for all.
As pictured above we were a very prosperous nation, but we were still a God fearing nation, until the 1960’s. The baby boomers, we were going to change the world to give everyone what we had, but not before we got it first. We told our parent we did not need God, those laws were old fashioned and soon we forgot all about God.

(Leviticus 26; 14-22)
Punishment for Disobedience
14 “‘But if you will not listen to me and carry out all these commands, 15 and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant, 16 then I will do this to you: I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever that will destroy your sight and sap your strength. You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it. 17 I will set my face against you so that you will be defeated by your enemies; those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee even when no one is pursuing you.
18 “‘If after all this you will not listen to me, I will punish you for your sins seven times over. 19 I will break down your stubborn pride and make the sky above you like iron and the ground beneath you like bronze. 20 Your strength will be spent in vain, because your soil will not yield its crops, nor will the trees of your land yield their fruit.
21 “‘If you remain hostile toward me and refuse to listen to me, I will multiply your afflictions seven times over, as your sins deserve. 22 I will send wild animals against you, and they will rob you of your children, destroy your cattle and make you so few in number that your roads will be deserted.

And so here is the law again, sound a little familiar? Do you honestly think after all I have shown you that God is not in control? If so you deserve exactly what God delivers. We are right now on the brink of loosing what God rewarded our Parents with, due to our greedy self-indulgent way of living. We as a nation must say enough is enough and start living the way God intended us to live, or, suffer greater losses than we have ever experienced. Even our leaders have never seen situations as bad as they are today. Just as God delivered his promise of reward to our parents, he is now delivering on his promise of punishment for turning our backs on him and being hostile toward him.
How do we change? First our government leaders need to take a good look at themselves, Starting at the President and going down to the Janitor, why are you in public service? Is it to serve as directed by God or is it to be served as directed by Satin. Is it service to others or self-service? Are laws being made based on Gods Law or the law of the flesh? We should not even consider laws on abortion, its murder. We should not even consider laws on Gay rights, it’s immoral. We should not be even considering removal of prayer from schools or from our public places, we should not ban our children from reading the bible, it is all against Gods law.
We should be embracing laws that protect family values such as the Blue laws, encouraging traditional marriages and keeping families together. Teaching responsible use of our technology and resources. Setting an example to our nation of responsible use of our funds and not to borrow more that you can pay back. Paying for those things that are needed for the public service and not just nice to have programs that line others pockets.
At home Parents need to start giving less material thing to their kids and start loving them more. Teaching the Godly rules that our parents taught us, insist on going to church on Sunday and having dinner as a family. We need to realize and thank God for what he has given us and not want for more. As a nation we need to start refusing to give into the fleshly desires which is Satins realm, and start seeking God in his word which is the truth, that is Gods realm. The flesh leads to darkness but the truth leads to the light.
We as a nation will never be out of these dark times until we acknowledge Gods call and turn back to those days in the 40’s and 50’s when God was a meaningful part of our families.
