I saw a woman by a bar,
she was a friend of mine.
She said, "Hello" and told me
she'd been drinking beer and wine.

She said her husband lost his job
and she was very scared.
I'm sure she also really thought
that no one really cared.

She came down to the local bar
and that was very sad.
Is there no other place to go?
That really made me mad.

What about the church in town?
There are good people there.
She could go to one of them
They'd help her burden, bear.

But then I thought that maybe God
had put me in that place.
He wanted me to be the one
to show God's love and grace.

"But God, I have so little.
I really want to sob.
I want to give her money and
help her husband find a job."

"I know your heart" God said to me.
"You want so much to give.
Just help your friend to see my face,
and in my presence live."

I knew she had it really rough.
She found it hard to cope.
I handed her my author card
that said, GOD'S HEALING HOPE.

I hope she calls upon His name,
in this great time of need.
Sometimes there's nothing else to do
but let Him take the lead.
